Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains is a mountainous region.

The sky was gloomy but we were greeted by a cheerful rainbow. Can you spot it?

spectacular..

The Three Sisters is a famous rock formation. They are close to the town of Katoomba and are one of the Blue Mountains' most famous sights, towering above the Jamison Valley.

Their names are Meehni (922 m), Wimlah (918 m), and Gunnedoo (906 m).

The commonly told legend of the Three Sisters is that three sisters fell in love with three men from a neighbouring tribe, but marriage was forbidden by tribal law. Battle ensued, and the sisters were turned to stone by an elder to protect them, but he was killed in the fighting and no one else could turn them back.

Blue Mountains borders on Sydney's metropolitan area, its foothills starting approximately 50 kilometres west of the state capital.

Consisting mainly of a sandstone plateau, the area is dissected by gorges up to 760 metres deep. The highest point of the range is 1,190 metres above sea level.

It was indeed very cold as it was windy. I was almost freezing! I quickly took snapshots of this spectacular place and quickly went back to the bus..

There's a cafe which also provided us with the warmth that we needed..

  11. Aust has some very interesting touristy names, like 3 sisters & 12apostles.

in Penang, there is (was?) a restaurant at the end of the batu ferringhi road called End of The World restaurant. don't know why people flock there because the seafood is only ok but prices exorbitant!
