Poros and Aegina

Poros is the smallest island of the three islands. It was very cold and windy then. I had to wear my winter jacket to keep me warm. We quickly went to the small shops to buy some souvenirs and then we went back to the ship for our lunch.

That's our ship waiting for us at the island.

view of the other side

look at those buildings..

The landscape is very hilly and mountainous. The highest peak is the Vigla (358 m) in the west-central part. Following the island's topography and geology, small creeks and seasonal streams flow through steep valleys of the southern and northeastern part. The western and northern part of the island feature smooth hills and shallow valleys. Sandy beaches are restricted to the southern shore of the island, except for a bay in the northern part called Vayionia.

we boarded the ship after we had got some souvenirs

to have our lunch

time to go to the next island, Aegina

awesome view of the sea

reached Aegina

The city of Aegina is the capital city of the island and it's located on the west side.
It's built amphitheatrical towards the sea. When you enter the harbor, the small, white church of Saint Nikolas welcomes you.
Your first impession is the modern type classical buildings, which are located along the sea front of the island and have terristrial shade colors which make them look even more beautiful at sunset.
The economic and social life of Aegina is centralized on the coastal road and the parallel roads.

It was getting warmer here.

the town center

We explored the town and finally we went back to the ship.
Pistachios is popular in this island.
But I didn't get to buy any as I had finished up my euros earlier in Poros.

It was almost evening..the sun was setting.

Finally, it set and we reached our destination..back to where we started our trip

Next: we had our Wyeth gala dinner.
