Chicken Pox

On the 30 March, my boy wrote: Feeling sick. Slight fever since yesterday  afternoon. I told him to take panadol, drink more water and rest.

On the 31 March, he sent this picture and asked if he's having chicken pox. I told him to see a doctor and he was told that he had contracted a viral disease. He was given a MC of 4 days.

On the 1 April, he sent this picture and asked if it's chicken pox. They looked like chicken pox to me.

On the 2 April, he had the pox all over his face.
His dad saw this picture and immediately asked him to come back.

I took a picture of his back and front too.

Applied calamine lotion for him.

I took care of him. Let him drink the 'Sai Kok' drinks. On the 3 April, his medical leave was almost over, I took him to see a doctor after I had finished my work. I had to see the doctor on his behalf and he was given another round of MC.

On 5 April, he was all smiles. His fever had finally subsided. Now already 12 April. It has been 2 weeks. Luckily he has a semester break next week. So he can rest more.

  1. The 1st April picture looks 100% like chicken pox already.. Ooohh his face indeed a lot of pox, he took the chicken pox jab when he was a baby? I heard if he took it, the pox would be lesser.. But glad it's subsided and over now..

  2. Really serious!! Now chicken pox is not compulsory for Jamie but I planning to bring him for a jab tomorrow. ^^

Both Jan and Jay have their compulsory jab when they were small but Jay had chicken right after his jab. Lol. My hubby never have any chicken pox so he went for his adult jab in private clinic after Jay was down with chicken pox. Adult is more suffering in this case so my hubby also worry.

Glad your boy is recovering and more rest as semester break is here.

    1. Maybe you should consider a jab. But I suppose people with good immune system and not heaty should be fine.

  6. Now i must remember that calamine lotions is the best remedy besides the Sai Kok drink. Did the doctor give any medicine?

    1. Yes, the first doctor gave him fever, rashes, flu and antibiotic medication. Calamine cream too. The second doctor told me he shouldn't be taking antibiotic for chicken pox. She gave me fever and allergy tablets. I got the calamine lotion from my shop itself. It gave him a cooling effect and stopped itchiness.

    2. Yes he must not feel itchy and accidentally scratch esp on the face. So many of my friends have permanent scars of holes on their pretty and handsome faces.

    3. True, I had a scar too which was caused by chicken. So I had advised him not to leave ugly scars on his face by scratching them.
