Highway (Ipoh to KL)

We were on our way from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur (KL) a day before Hari Raya Puasa. It was raining all the way. That was why the cars opposite us had their headlights switched on.

People were travelling up north to celebrate the festive occasion.
But we were traveling down south.

The traffic was so congested.
Almost bumper to bumper.

We almost reached KL.

But it was different on the next day, that was on the first day of Hari Raya Puasa.

On our way back from KL (travelling North) the next day.
The day was clear.

Not much traffic on this day.

The journey was so smooth.

The sky was cheerful too.

We almost reached Ipoh.

In response to Brenda.

  1. Oh that's one of my most dreaded nightemare to travel on pre/post festive season. Rather either stay at home or travel few days ahead or later. Got kena speed trap? haha

  2. I was in Brunei and I got caught in the traffic jam for 1 hour. Travelling during festive season is a nightmare!

  12. Delightful photos and the sky does look cheery. Now that I have a choice, though, I pretty much stay off the roads when it is so rainy.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

  13. I hate travelling that road during nightime and during festival season. The rest area also dirty and packed.Normal day is much better

  14. That's how I like to travel..in the opposite direction of everyone else! Great pictures and looks like a pretty drive, too!

  15. Love how you shared both the rainy shots and clear weather. Great contrast. And I can't help but notice you all drive on the opposite side of the road from us in the States.

  18. Miles and miles away, but our roads look the same on a holiday. Bumper to bumper! Hope you had a nice time!

  20. Wonderful pictures! Glad you didn't have to battle wet roads on both days. I'm not crazy about having to drive in the rain.

  22. Very nice pictures of the trip, Wenn. It was good there was not the fog: last week I had to interrupt a travel by car because of the fog :-)

  23. Happy Deepavali Holiday & Happy Weekend Wenn! I love driving on the highway during raining because I knew for sure there will be no speed trap :D No worry, I'm a responsible driver :P Yeah, I hate bumper to bumper craw especially on the highway as we paid for it for fast ride. I think PLUS still okay but the worst is Litrak on their LDP, which jammed everyday despite charging for a hefty 1.6 per passed. Even those I just drive less than 2 km from Sri Damansara to Bandar Utama

  24. Wonderful that you got good weather on the next day!

  28. I dread travelling on the eve of any festive season. Our travel time would double up!

And I'm not comfortable sitting in a car during a heavy rain too. Scared, man!

  29. The rain and the traffic don't look like much fun but the drive back looks very nice. The clouds and the trees are great.

Thanks for taking part in the challenge. Hope to see you in the next one as well.

  32. Oh wow, great shots of the road on both weather. Dry and wet. Looks slippery on wet days. I was in KL last July 2009. You have nice roads, we had a pleasant trip. Only problem I guess is that the airport was a few distance away from the main city. Overall, KL is a wonderful place to visit!
