Highway (Ipoh to KL)
We were on our way from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur (KL) a day before Hari Raya Puasa. It was raining all the way. That was why the cars opposite us had their headlights switched on.
In response to Brenda.
We almost reached KL.
But it was different on the next day, that was on the first day of Hari Raya Puasa.
In response to Brenda.
Oh that's one of my most dreaded nightemare to travel on pre/post festive season. Rather either stay at home or travel few days ahead or later. Got kena speed trap? haha
ReplyDeleteI was in Brunei and I got caught in the traffic jam for 1 hour. Travelling during festive season is a nightmare!
ReplyDeletehmm... just curious what r u doing in KL for only less than 24 hours? :p most of the time was spent on the road.
ReplyDeleteOh my Goodness! It looks a bit Slippery!! Great shots! Thanks for playing along with us!!hughugs
ReplyDeletewow...raining season huh? thank God no accidents happened, if not will sure be jam.
ReplyDeleteTraffic was smooth, did you enjoy the trip? I thought so. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWe were traveling from KL-Ipoh (opposite direction of yours) a day before Hari Raya
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots for the challenge! Thank you for joining us!
ReplyDeleteHmm...it's been some time dy I didn't go to Ipoh or KL. Will go to KL (visit my mother in law) in Jan2010. Sudah plan siap siap cos hv need to apply leave mah!
ReplyDeleteOur H'way always jammed up during the festive season...add another lane also not effective.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures documented your journey so well..from rain to shine, just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDelightful photos and the sky does look cheery. Now that I have a choice, though, I pretty much stay off the roads when it is so rainy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your trip with us.
I hate travelling that road during nightime and during festival season. The rest area also dirty and packed.Normal day is much better
ReplyDeleteThat's how I like to travel..in the opposite direction of everyone else! Great pictures and looks like a pretty drive, too!
ReplyDeleteLove how you shared both the rainy shots and clear weather. Great contrast. And I can't help but notice you all drive on the opposite side of the road from us in the States.
ReplyDeleteThe change of sky is always interesting to follow :)! Have a wonderful weekend, Wenn.
ReplyDeleteLooks similar to all the rain we've been getting in our neck of the woods too! Thanks for letting me "travel" along in your photos!
ReplyDeleteMiles and miles away, but our roads look the same on a holiday. Bumper to bumper! Hope you had a nice time!
ReplyDeleteSo - you experienced both kinds of weather - sunny and rainy. Thanks for sharing the photos - enjoyed the road trip!
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures! Glad you didn't have to battle wet roads on both days. I'm not crazy about having to drive in the rain.
ReplyDeleteTypical of traffic flow on festive season :-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures of the trip, Wenn. It was good there was not the fog: last week I had to interrupt a travel by car because of the fog :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Deepavali Holiday & Happy Weekend Wenn! I love driving on the highway during raining because I knew for sure there will be no speed trap :D No worry, I'm a responsible driver :P Yeah, I hate bumper to bumper craw especially on the highway as we paid for it for fast ride. I think PLUS still okay but the worst is Litrak on their LDP, which jammed everyday despite charging for a hefty 1.6 per passed. Even those I just drive less than 2 km from Sri Damansara to Bandar Utama
ReplyDeleteWonderful that you got good weather on the next day!
ReplyDeleteWonderful that you got good weather on the next day!
ReplyDeletecool rainy shots! not my favorite weather to travel in especially at night. glad you had a safe trip.
ReplyDeletei hope my journey to kl tomorrow will be smooth, i dont like to travel during day, i prefer to travel at night, but tomorrow have to travel during day time, uwaaa, boring
ReplyDeleteI dread travelling on the eve of any festive season. Our travel time would double up!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm not comfortable sitting in a car during a heavy rain too. Scared, man!
The rain and the traffic don't look like much fun but the drive back looks very nice. The clouds and the trees are great.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking part in the challenge. Hope to see you in the next one as well.
Judy
Lovely pictures, beautiful country.
ReplyDeletethan k you for visiting
Never remember KL Ipoh Highway to be so beautiful....thanks. Usually I would dose off for a good rest.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, great shots of the road on both weather. Dry and wet. Looks slippery on wet days. I was in KL last July 2009. You have nice roads, we had a pleasant trip. Only problem I guess is that the airport was a few distance away from the main city. Overall, KL is a wonderful place to visit!
ReplyDeleteThe weather in this country is always unpredictable!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see the weather cleared for trip home. Thanks for sharing your road trip.
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't like smooth traffic right? :p
ReplyDeletei never like to drive in the rain..
ReplyDeletei hate driving when it's raining, hard to see the road! it's good that the sky's clear by the time you were going back home. Gives driving much ease.
ReplyDeletenicer to drive during fine weather..
ReplyDeleteWow! Traveling by road during festive season is a no-no to me.
ReplyDeleteby travelling opposite the congested highway is a nice journey..
