Sarawak Cultural Village

My school colleagues and I went for a trip to Kuching, Sarawak during the school holidays in 2007. That was my first time to East Malaysia. I liked the Sarawak Cultural Village the most.

Welcome..
to Sarawak Cultural Village

The Cultural Village comprises a unique collection of authentic traditional buildings which sprawl across the foothills of Mount Santubong, 35 kilometres from Kuching. Known as the "Living Museum" the Cultural Village portrays the distinct cultures of Sarawak’s many ethnic groups.

the signboard says..
We invite all guests to cross over to the Bidayuh longhouse
on this Bidayuh bamboo bridge

We wandered around the village’s traditional dwellings and joined the locals in their daily village activities.

For RM60 admission fees each, we spent the whole day in the village. The highlight of the visit was certainly the cultural show. During the 45 minutes show, we were introduced to different dances and music, performed in traditional clothing and costumes.

Sarawak Cultural Village is a great destination for families, as it offers a hands-on experience of Sarawak. Visiting the village is a good way of getting a general overview of Sarawak's culture and traditions.

Sarawak Cultural Village is a must see if you visit Sarawak.

  3. Glad you went to Sarawak, we need more inter exchanges to know more about the two regions.

Did you go up the stage to dance? My son went up nwhen he was five, and he got so much encore.

Did you eat the midin fern? You could become a millionaire.
