Back from UK

Well, my friend Annie drove me all the way from Essex to Heathrow airport. It was raining too and we were worried as the motorway was rather congested. But we managed to make it. I reached the airport at 6.30pm on Friday.

I asked Annie to just drop me at the entrance. I knew how to make my way there. So the first thing that I looked out is the gate.

I went straight to check in. I didn't have any luggage to be checked in. Only a backpack, a sling bag and a carry bag with me. The check-in officer was surprised when I told him that I had no luggage to be checked in.

Ok, since I was done with that, I just turned around and I saw the VAT counter. That meant I could just do my tax return for my pair of new shoes, Skechers which cost me 65 pounds.

I lined up and a MAS stewardess asked me to give her the way as she was in a hurry. No problem and she was so thankful for that. My claim was just 5 pounds and I requested for cash. But the officer asked me to fill in my credit card number. He gave me the envelope with the claim and I just dropped it at the nearest post box.

Then I waited for the boarding gate to be shown. When it was shown, I walked all the way to gate 24.

There seemed to be a long queue. I queued up and when I reached the counter, the officer told me that it's NOT my flight! I soon realised that my flight was 006 and NOT 004 although it was the same Emirates. She told me to get to gate 7.

I was not panicky as I had ample time to get boarded. When I got to gate 7. I was the first one to be there. It was only 9pm. I waited till 9.30pm. Then it was time for me to get in the plane. My flight was at 10.22pm.

Transited at Dubai. It was just two hours wait and my flight back to KL was at 10.30am Saturday morning (Dubai's time which is 4 hours behind us). When I reached KL it was already 10pm. My bus back to Ipoh was 11.30pm.

I had enough time to get Martel Gordon Bleu for my husband and some chocolates for my kids..

When I reached Ipoh at about 3am Sunday, my husband was already there. We went for some food before we went home.

Reached home at about 4am and I only slept at 5am. This morning, I got up at about 9am.

Now it's lunch time. I got to go to the shop before it closes..

Have a nice Sunday!

  5. It was the year 1993 when I boarded a plane out from Heathrow! So long ago but I remembered getting lost inside their huge old airport. The plane had shut its doors and almost flew off when they had to open for me to get inside! So malu when everyone stared at me who was panting heavily like a dog! Ha ha
