Southern Alps
We got to view the mountains of the Southern Alps from Ashburton which is a large town in the Canterbury Region, on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand.
sunny but cool as the wind was blowing
My SIL has learned to take pictures with her phone for this trip.
a close-up shot of the snow-tipped mountains
interesting..
we saw more of that later on
We checked in at Hotel Ashburton.
They still used the keys..
cozy double bed room
with heated bedsheets and a heater too
The weather was very cold...
and the next morning was a surprise for us..
The mountains looked like nice postcards with snow on top. Did you go up there to ski?
ReplyDeleteYes I agree
DeleteNo, I didn't.
DeleteThis is the first time I ever heard of heated bed sheets!!! I only heard of heated blankets.
ReplyDeleteMy first time too.
DeleteHow cold was it?? Minus 5?
ReplyDeleteJust a few degrees Celcius.
DeleteBeautiful mountains! It's rare to see hotel keys anymore.
ReplyDeleteThe heater bedsheets must be very comfortable.
ReplyDeleteNZ is a great place with beautiful mountains, fields, rivers, farm and many more.
DeleteStill using key?.....they still preserved the old fashioned way huh!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what was the surprise for you n your SIL....
DeleteGet free to ski?
Deleteya, they still used the keys which was rather intriguing.
DeleteNice room, Wenn... hope one day I can go to NZ too.. :)
ReplyDeleteNice mountain...
ReplyDeleteOh they still use key...
ReplyDeleteThought now mostly use card...
ReplyDeleteWonder what is the surprise...
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend ahead...
ReplyDeletenice view, especially one whole range of snow-capped mountains!! breathtaking and i would say the air is also fresher?? hehe~~ :)
ReplyDeleteyes, the air felt fresh and clean too.
Deletecan't wait to see what's the surprise.. errr, snowing?? hahaha~~ :p
ReplyDeleteYa, I also can't wait to see what's the surprise. I still can't get used to cold countries where it can be very sunny yet still cold.
ReplyDeleteThink that would be safer with heated sheets to warm the bed that heated blankets nanti 'run current' *chow tin* would be BBQ hahaha. Bananaz not comfortable sleeping in rooms with heater kind like very stuffy to me.
ReplyDeleteShall wait to see your surprise next morning don't tell me you wet the bed with all your sweat? haha.
ReplyDeletehaha..no sweating at all.
DeleteJust seeing the mountain view for the day?
ReplyDeleteIt sure is gorgeous.
Mountain view took so much of our time too.
DeleteIt sure looks sunny but yet seems refreshing,
ReplyDeleteunlike here, it was sunny too, but even there's
a wind breeze it was still hot haha
anyway those mountain seems like a
ReplyDeletereal life post card haha!

ReplyDeleteyet pretty comfty and I like how
sunshine's entering the room
now that ending note was kinda intriguing!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what could be surprising
