Love the mooncakes
So I cut those mooncakes today. Love three of them as the fourth one was already eaten by my husband last night. I didn't know about it. Otherwise, I would definitely stop him from eating and let me take a shot first. But it's too late. I don't know if it's tasty.
Here's what I got. I just ate a quarter of each mooncake.
Less sugar red bean.
Less sugar suits me well.
Less sugar green tea lotus + sweetened bean.
Red beans goes so well with the green tea.
Lotus Paste with double yolk.
The yolk is perfect..not too salty.
What type of mooncake did my husband eat?
your husband ate that assorted nuts with ham!! haha, and he ate the whole thing all by himself?? wow, impressive!!
ReplyDeleteHe usually takes mooncake in a whole piece. I won't do that. I have to cut it first.
DeleteYour hubb had assorted nuts with ham... that's the only one missing from this pic, kekek~
DeleteInitially I thought he took the one with yolks. :)
DeleteI like moon cakes without yolks. Haha!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind those with yolks provided it's not too salty.
DeleteAnd I prefer snow skin moon cakes. The classic ones are boring. Or rather I'm bored with them
ReplyDeleteI like both..they have their own uniqueness.
Deletei can only eat the most half at a time (and must be different flavor), but i never like assorted nuts with ham, it's just too "heavy" with all nuts, need to take 30 minutes to finish one piece, haha~~
ReplyDeleteMe too. The most I can take is half of it and different flavor too.
DeleteLast time I didn't like assorted nuts but now I do.
and i do not like yolks!! i prefer those without yolks, plain lotus paste would be my first choice..
ReplyDeleteHi 5! LOL!
Deleteyes, actually the cost of lotus is higher than yolk.. but they are selling mooncakes with yolk at higher price than plain lotus!! strange~~
DeleteThe plain ones only cost RM10 each whereas the ones with double yolks cost RM16 each! Look at the big difference!
DeleteI agree with SK. I think your husband ate the assorted nuts with ham. Correct? : )
ReplyDeletecheh!! follow my answer, you didn't even read the post yesterday.. no prize for you lah~~ :p
Deletewill see about that..
Deleteand those snowskin mooncake are getting more and more creative and interesting, i would actually like to try those new flavors which comes out every year without fail..
ReplyDeleteInteresting and I have tried the snow skin with chocolate. Yummy!
DeleteI like snowskin mooncake, taste very refreshing and chewy ^^
Deletesnowskin ones look so tempting too..
DeleteCan't wait to receive free mooncakes soon! xD
ReplyDeleteI always keep green tea ones for hubby. He lvoes them.
I hate anything made of green tea..
DeleteThe smell of green tea put me off. But recently when I took the drink of green tea with red beans, it was great. So now I don't mind it.
DeleteI don't really like green tea, but I like its end product, namely ice cream, moon cake :)
DeleteI suppose I'm not too keen about green tea..
DeleteYr hubby had the assorted nuts with ham...am I right? :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I personally like the more 'original' favour which is the lotus paste with egg yolk or pure red bean either the normal skin or 'ping pei'.
But since it is only once a year, so also no harm trying out some of the new 'invention'.
I don't mind taking and trying all kinds as it's only once in a year..
Deletehey, i love mooncakes too! can't get enough of it.. haha the blood sugar level sure rise already ><
ReplyDeleteit's alright as long as you take plenty of water..
Deletetrying to see if I can make my own mooncake this year.. will do a trial this weekend.
ReplyDeletethat's great! home-made ones..
Deletelast weekend I just bought a mooncake..
ReplyDeletewhite lotus .. cost me RM12..
my fav mooncake isfrom foh san..
i tasted many but foh san is really good
foh san is branded and tasty too..definitely more expensive.
Deletei guess your hubby will like the lotus paste with double yolk..
ReplyDeletemy wife just like the pure lotus..
nowadays there are too many types..
but we still prefer the normal ones...
He used to like those with yolks. But recently he has avoided that and turned to nuts. :)
DeleteI ,ove red bean paste the most. Not keen on lotus paste
ReplyDeleteam not adventurous when comes to mooncake. i prefer the old taste.
DeleteI love the red bean paste too..
