Unreasonable customers

This customer is too much. Today he asked for the Enercal milk powder at the cheaper price. He didn't want the one which comes with a packet of free oats. That definitely cost more.

I told him that that one was the previous batch. Now this recent batch only comes with the free packets of oats. He insisted that I asked the supplier for that former one. I told him that I couldn't do that as I don't deal with suppliers. So I told him to refer to the boss. He was not happy and accused me of not bothered to listen to his feedback.

Meanwhile, the boss walked past. He called the boss loudly and complained. The boss also gave the same reason like I gave. He was still not satisfied.

Then he said, "Then I know what to do." I supposed he doesn't want to buy from us anymore.

Another customer only knows how to complain. He always compares our price with our rival just a few doors away. Once he asked me about the price of a certain packet of rice. I told him. He said, "I got it cheap from else where."

I just don't understand. He said somewhere else is cheaper and yet he still buys from us..

  2. Funny things is, nobody would complain like this at the hypermart, right? Or haggle for lower price.

  8. and the second customer.. you should ask him loudly why still buy from you since its cheaper elsewhere?? must be a lie he's trying to make so that he could make you give discounts..

  9. Firstly, I think those two customers you mentioned have valid reason so called to complain,,, they are right in asking for what they think are their rights,,, no wrong in asking for cheaper price, no wrong in wanting to buy the previous promo pack,,,,

When we are in business, I think it is our duty to make our customers happy and sometimes we have to lose a little to make them happy..... You know I like to go to this German restaurant Weissbrau in Penang, the boss always makes sure that we have a little extra every time we visit his outlet,,, we have become so called,"open" I sometimes complain too but I would make him feel bad lah,,,

keep smiling, we can make a change

  13. It's tough right? But I guess you heard the saying that the customers are always right. That's why I say it's tough to run a business but these are the challenges you will have to take it in your stride : )

  14. It's normal that customers want the best bargain they can get. There's no harm in asking (coz if dun ask, sure won't get mah) but gotta ask in a polite way n be reasonable.
