Prawns

There is definitely bound to have prawns during any wedding dinners. I love to eat prawns but I'm always too lazy to peel the prawns. Sometimes my husband would peel for me if he sits still but most of the time he would be around 'yum-seng' with other people. He simply loves drinking during dinner. I simply despise that.

Anyway, I would be quietly eating away.

This plate of prawns is so scrumptious!

No need to peel the shells and can just pop the prawns into our mouth!
I simply love it!

Myth: You shouldn't eat shrimp (and other high-cholesterol foods) if you have high cholesterol.

It used to be, if you had high cholesterol, you were supposed to avoid foods containing dietary cholesterol at all costs. That's no longer the case. We now know that saturated fat has a bigger impact on raising your cholesterol levels than dietary cholesterol. So it's fine to eat eggs, shrimp and other cholesterol-containing foods in moderate amounts as part of a healthy diet.

  2. I agree that it's not true anymore that eating prawn increase your cholesterol level. My husband is allergic to prawns (most seafood, anyway) so he has never taken prawn since child but his cholesterol reading is nearing the borderline of unhealthy every year. I guess it has a lot to do with the family genetic when we talk about cholesterol, diabetic and heart disease.

  24. That is good to know but I believe everything in moderation is a safe bet. Indeed, deshelled prawns are a big plus. That looks like a delicious dish of prawns.

Yeah, Chinese wedding dinners would always include prawns for the symbolic meaning of being healthy and active.
