Chinese New Year Business

My husband's shop was opened the whole day for the past 2 Sundays. That was from 8.30am to 10pm just like the other normal days. Normally the shop is only opened until 2pm on Sundays. Previously it was not a working day but since April last year, Sunday was declared a working day. My staff was ever willing to work too.

Well, yesterday I thought I could stay at home as it was Sunday. I just wanted to cook and do some housekeeping since Chinese New Year is just around the corner.

While I was still at the kitchen getting ready to cook, the phone rang. I was called to go to work as I was needed to wrap more hampers.

So immediately I quickly gave a quick deep-fried tofu and stir-fried sawi. Showered and quickly ate my small portion of lunch as I had breakfast earlier.

Headed to my husband's shop and started wrapping more hampers. This time I wrapped RM50 hampers as the customers requested for that.

These hampers below were in display since last week and today almost all were sold.

Fitline Presentation

It was in May 2006 when I had organized my first Fitline presentation in a hotel. But the rental of the hotel place was paid by the company, PM Wellness. Before that, a few presentation had been done at my place.

My uplines were invited to carry out the presentation.

My mum is my great supporter until now.

Year 2006 was a very hectic year for me. I went all the way to promote Fitline. I had quite a number of downlines and I was successful at that time. I had gone through lots of ups and downs..I had heard lots of objections too.

This line was not easy. One had to be very persistent and guess I was exhausted. I had no time to carry on. Right now, I am busy working but I still consume this product. It has kept me healthy until now.

Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple

Kek Lok Tong is Chinese words, which means Cavern of Ultimate Bliss. It is located not far away from Sam Poh Tong since they are on the same range of limestone hills.

We went to this temple with my eldest brother and my youngest brother's family.

I just love this beautiful scenery.

Surrounded by famous limestone hills of Ipoh, the site is a famous tourist destination and provides amazing scenery for photographers.

Buddhist Statues

The cave temple is also known as “The Cave Temple of Bronze Buddhas”. Today, Kek Look Tong has 13 Taoist and Buddhist statues cast by expert sculptors in Taiwan.

A tribute to Mr Fan Yew Teng, a former DAP MP

When I met Mr Fan Yew Teng, he was my neighbor staying opposite my house. In 2005, I was actively involved in promoting Fitline.

One day, I approached him and I was surprised that he was keen in what I was doing. I even signed him up as my downline. Then I taught him how to mix the drink.

As he was alone, he liked me to visit him. I realized that he was a very kind and conscientious person.

I got to know more about his family. He loved to read books. He had a great collection of books. He even gave some of his books to me. He also collected many kinds of antique stuff. He even grew flowering plants. When he was not around, I would help him to water his plants.

Once he wanted to get rid of his book shelf and he gave it to me. Now it's standing tall with all my Fitline stuff.

I recalled he gave me a very nice birthday card. When it was his birthday in 2006, he treated me to a breakfast at Indulgence. That was my first time there.

He even took me to see his sister, the owner of Yum Yum. Coincidentally, I knew his sister even before I was married.

I took him once to an optician as he needed to change his glasses.

When it was my girl's birthday in April 2006, he gave her a present. I couldn't imagine he was such a nice man.

I am feeling sad right now. :( I knew him just for a matter of a year. After that, he was very busy as he was a freelance writer.

Recently, I realized that he had shifted. But I had no idea where was he.

So 3 days ago, while I was at the post office, the clerk told me that Mr Fan Yew Teng had passed away in Dec last year. I was shocked.

When I came back from work, I googled about him and then only I realized that he was indeed a great man.

It was so sad that I could never see him again.

Goodbye, my dearest friend.

Rest in peace, dear Mr Fan as I used to call him.

Ball Lantern (2)

Yesterday, I tried to make the ball lantern just like Merryn's ball lantern but it turned out differently. I did only one as it was late already.

It stood nicely on top of my laptop.

Out of the 30 CNY packets, I did three of my own version.

Tonight, I used a smaller red packets as suggested by Merryn.
I had to refer to her video carefully.
Yea, I got it this time!

Ball Lantern

Merryn taught us how to make a ball lantern. I was eager to give it a try. So when I came back after work at 10pm, I quickly took my shower and started on this special handicraft.

I got ready 4 stacks of Chinese New Year packets.
30 altogether

Started folded them into diamond shape.

Then I stapled the packets and here's the outcome.

Here, I got stuck. It became something else instead of a rounded ball lantern. :)

Well, it's late. I will try again soon..

Fitline during Beijing Trip

I went to Beijing in June 2006. It was about a year since I started consuming Fitline. I had been successful and I was still eager to promote it at that time. I brought along the products to Beijing. I let my tour people tried it but I didn't manage to sign them up. They were rather skeptical.

Beijing at that time was summer. It was terribly hot. The day was windy and one could easily get sands in the eyes. That's why we had to wear sunglasses and even caps.

Well, everyday during the trip, without fail I would feed my afternoon supervisor with Fitline. I had to keep her healthy as I could see one by one fell sick. Majority fell sick during the trip. Some fell sick immediately after the trip.

To my amazement, my supervisor and I were not sick at all. Seeing the truth with her own eyes, my supervisor started to consume Fitline. I signed her up and she even introduced the products to her family. I taught her how to keep healthy.

So wherever I go, fitline follows.

Niu Jie Mosque

The Niujie (Ox Street) Mosque, is situated on Niujie Street in the city's Xuanwu District. First built back in 996, the mosque has a history that stretches back over a thousand years, in which time it has undergone numerous refits and extensions, and has greeted Muslims from all over the world to worship. The mosque covers an area of over 6000 square meters (7176 square yards), and is structurally based on traditional Chinese wooden palaces, yet adopts a typical Arabic-style of decoration. There are no human or animal figures among these decorations as these are considered taboo in Islam.

Chinese Muslims

Since my Beijing tour was mainly for Muslims, the tourist guide took us to the mosque for the Muslims to offer prayers. I was not supposed to come to this sacred place, therefore I could stay in the bus. But, I was curious to see further. I walked around the area capturing a few shots. Amazing..it's so much different from our Malaysian mosque.

Tea Culture

In Beijing, we visited a tea house where the staff showed us how to drink tea. They also showed us the different types of tea.

Finally, we bought some tea. :)

Initially, Chinese tea art was originated from Tang Dynasty. Tea art consists of the skills for judging and commenting tea, the artistic procedures for making tea and the atmosphere for enjoying tea. It is the show of the ways of making tea and the soul enjoyment. The way for making tea generally include: tea selection, water selection, tea-making technique, tea-china selection and the environmental refinement. The background of tea art is also very important, because it is usually the best way to show the deep thought of tea culture. Generally, the classical background music played with Chinese classical instruments like Chinese guzhen, flute, xiao and xiong and so on is available in tea art in order to give the drinkers or watchers the enjoyment of traditional aesthetics and Zen philosophy or give the tasters the quite environment like they stay in deep mountains or natural environment without the noise of the society and the anxiety of the soul. Tea in common life is widely used for both keeping fit and spiritual improvement. During the tea drinking, a real drinker is strict about the usage of water, tea type and utensils as well as the atmosphere selection. Drinking tea traditionally can raise personal morality and help to harmonize the interpersonal relations. Tea drinkers usually like making friends and showing their personalities by virtue of drinking tea.

Mongolian girls

We were taken to a restaurant whereby the mongolian girls entertained us with their dances.

Mongolian dance began as a ritual performance imitating the movement and manner of deities, mystical creatures and legendary heroes. Shamanist perception of the surrounding world and worshipping of Mother Nature influenced the style of ancient dancing, as well as the shape and pattern of clothing and accessories.

It was fun experiencing the trishaw ride in Beijing.
