Penang trip
I had a last minute plan. I called home few days ago and my sister happened to be there with my mum. So I asked her if I could visit her as I would love to visit the 3D Interactive Museum in Penang. She actually had an appointment with her friends but because of me wanting to go, she cancelled her appointment and she's free to take me around.
I was so glad and I suggested that I should meet her up at Queensbay Mall. So I got ready for the trip with my eldest girl. Yesterday, we started our journey after I had topped-up my Touch n Go card at the Maybank ATM. The time showed 7.20am. So off I drove all the way till Juru rest house. My brother called me and told me not to park at Queensbay Mall's parking area. He would take me to Giant instead.
Just after 9am, I had reached Queensbay Mall. I gave my brother a call and he told me to wait. Waited about 20minutes. My sister came over to my car while my brother drove my sister's car. We went to buy some buns near Sunshine before we headed to Giant. I parked my car there which was free for the whole day while my girl and I hopped over to my sister's car.
We headed to Lebuh Armenian. We went mural hunting and photo taking. It was a hot morning. We managed to view most of the murals.
After much satisfaction, we were on our way smoothly to the 3D Interactive museum. We paid RM15 for the entrance. My girl became my photographer as she didn't want to take any pictures. I enjoyed myself and it was fun.
It was raining abit so we had western food nearby. My brother had gone back earlier after dropping us. He came back again to pick us. On the way, he took us to the new emporium, The Paragon. We had some food over there.
Later he took us to the floating temple. It was a great experience.
It's time to go back. My brother took us back to Giant. From there, he led us to the Penang second bridge.
Good bye to Penang and we headed to Taiping. I allowed my girl to drive the car for the very first time on highway from Penang straight to Taiping.
Wow such a nice trip. With your sweet girl accompanying you somemore.. Nice.. Dunno I have to wait until when for my turn... I love short trips too.. Ad hoc trips, no need plan.. Feel like it, just go! Haha.. No food pictures?
ReplyDeleteNice pics. I would also want to see the murals and museum.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Wenn...
ReplyDeleteSo the drive from Taiping to Penang is around 2 hrs?
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend ahead...
ReplyDeletelooks like a nice trip, i have not been to Penang for ages and i think there have been so many changes.. love those murals and those 3D interactive elements!! and oh, the Paragon looks nice with all those retro and old-school deco too~~
ReplyDeleteHow nice la your sis cancelled her appointment for you! Family first, right? :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I also think that your sister is very nice to cancel her appointment for you. Very savvy of your siblings to lead your car to Giant for free parking. If you parked at Queensbay the parking fees will be quite substantial.
ReplyDeleteI like your impromptu trip. Very carefree and good bonding with your siblings and eldest daughter. Nice photos too. I must find out where this floating temple is and go visit it the next time I am in Penang.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures. The murals look wonderful esp those at the museum. Any idea who did those? Is it the same person who did the street murals?
ReplyDeleteShort ad hoc trips and family-bonding make for a lovely experience. Thanks for sharing.
Such a fun trip, always wish to travel at Penang to take picture of those mural arts, but always must have something coming up!!!
ReplyDeleteThe museum looks interesting Wenn..if I happen to go this weekend, I will drop by....
ReplyDeleteNice pleasant trip ! I also hope to visit penang.
ReplyDeleteYou and your daughter are like best friends!! Can go anywhere to Ronda-Ronda like sistas!
ReplyDeleteThanks for updating me about my hometown! I didn't know about the floating temple and museum! Phiak my head!

Bringing Aden to Penang tomorrow but I guess we got not enough time to visit the museum la! :(
ReplyDeleteLast minutue plan ar? Good too. Feel like going to the places too.
ReplyDeleteI want to go to the museum too.. Will plan one day...
ReplyDeleteLuckily Ipoh-Taiping and Penang was not very far away... So can go jalan jalan although is a last minute plan... Good for you and your girl.
ReplyDeleteHmm good to try to drvie on highways. I'm sure she is ok with it.
ReplyDeleteHow I wish I have a sister too :(
