Kiwi
Initially, I didn't like kiwis. I disliked those tiny seeds. But recently when I was in New Zealand, we were brought to the orchard and kiwis were given.
I brought them to the hotel and tried ways to eat them. First, I tried peeling them and it was so messy. Then I tried cutting the skin with the knife. What a waste.
So I thought I would leave the others till they became softer.
Then I cut them into two.
Just scooped the flesh out.
All eaten up.
Clean and not messy at all.
How do you eat your kiwi?
Hello Wenn,
ReplyDeleteI think cutting it into half and scooping out the flesh is the general way taught on how to eat a kiwi. Sometimes I do that but I find it is more messy than carefully peeling the skin and then cutting it into half then eating it.
Have a good week ahead.
I always do this way since this is easier.
Deletehmm...i also dont like kiwi. reminds me of the sharp pineapple taste
ReplyDeleteoh, the taste is fantastic.
DeleteGood morning Wenn...
ReplyDeleteI like Kiwi, but prefer the gold one, but that one is more expensive...
Normally i peel and cut into slice and eat it....
Have a great week ahead...
Yes, I love the gold ones too.
DeleteThat's how I eat kiwis too.
ReplyDeleteBut it's not that hard to peel and slice it. Just don't wait till its too soft.
I guess you don't like dragon fruit too? ;)
True, Lina. I don't like dragon fruit. I dislike the pinkish color.
Deletei will usually peel (using a peeler of course) and then slice into pieces.. if i am lazy, then will just cut into halves and then use a spoon to scoop.. :p
ReplyDeleteguess it can be peeled easily if it's still hard. Not advisable if it has turned soft.
Deletei like kiwi, sweet or sour, and i think the tiny little seeds are kind of nice to chew?? hahaha.. it's always a challenge when eating the center white part, cos that would be the most sour part of the fruit, but i like it~~ :p
ReplyDeleteI prefer ripe kiwis as it's nicer to eat. Not too sour.
DeleteGood morning Wenn!
ReplyDeleteThat is how I would eat my kiwis. I used to eat a lot of this fruit during my college time in WM, because that time, kiwis are pretty cheap.
I would dig out the flesh and enjoy in front of tv. :p
And I also like to put kiwis in my fruit salad too, with watermelon, honeydew and some mayo!
yes, kiwis is an interesting add-ons to salads. Will try that some day.
DeleteYeah, neat way of eating the fruit though I find this fruit abrasive to the tongue, something like the pineapple, which I also stay away from.
ReplyDeleteGuess both kiwis and pineapples are best eaten when they are fully ripen.
DeleteYes, I just cut them into half and scoop up with a spoon.. easy and less messy...
ReplyDeletethe best way to eat..
DeleteHi Wenn, same like you. Cut into half then scoop them with spoon.
ReplyDeleteI think there's no other better way to eat kiwi right?
Deletewell, some people peel its skin..
DeleteI would prefer the yellow kiwi - very sweet.
ReplyDeleteSo far I used kiwi as my cake decoration. Kiwi Rose...I think TM definitely will remember that.
Deletekiwi definitely makes good decoration..
DeleteThe first time I saw a Kiwi Fruit during the early 80s, I was being told to cut and scoop like how you did. Somehow it took me many years to like the fruit because i had very sour ones at the beginning and thought it was awful until I ate them in hotels during breakfast in overseas. It was delicious!!
ReplyDeleteme too. I started to like kiwi after I had them for breakfast at the hotel..
DeleteIt is such an expensive fruit that I rather enjoy canned peaches with yoghurt! More heavenly la.
ReplyDeletebut it's not healthy to take canned fruits..
DeleteI think I saw a blogger shared a photo of the Kiwi Peeler. I wonder where she bought it? Was it Blogger Ling??
ReplyDeleteoh, they have a special peeler for kiwi?
DeleteI think I eat mine the same way you do...but I just don't really fancy their taste. :p
ReplyDeleteI will only eat them once in a while..
DeleteI prefer banana to kiwi. :p
ReplyDeleteyes, banana is so much easier to eat..
DeleteI cut into two and then i used spoon to scoop it out.
ReplyDeleteeasy way to do it..
DeleteLook like we are back to school again.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day.
yes..
DeleteYep, this is the typical way of eating kiwi, easiest and fastest!
ReplyDeleteMy son likes kiwi too, so kiwis are something we stock up often in the fridge, rich in Vit C!
You know there's another yellow type of kiwi? Hmm I don't like that, feel that it's not that sweet. Still prefer this green one!
DeleteI have no preference. I like both types..
DeleteI eat like the same way you eat!!! =]
