Backfired

This incident happened last March. I was on my way to work and was driving along a narrow road. Suddenly, a car was reversing and knocked my car. I was shocked when I heard a bang. It hit my side.

I came down from my car and talked to the guy. He told me that he was not looking behind. He reversed out as I was passing by. It was definitely his fault.

As my husband's shop was just around the corner, he followed me to the shop. After much discussion, the guy still refused to pay for the damage. So, we decided to make a report.

I realised that I didn't bring my identity card (ic) with me. So I told him that I would be right back. But he sensed that and challenged me to show him my ic.

I refused, denied that and quickly drove back to my house nearby to get my ic. When I went back to the shop, my husband told me that the guy had agreed to settle part of it. He paid RM250 and insisted that I should pay for the rest since I was considered wrong too.

I got so angry. But he had already left!

Until now, my husband still hasn't sent it for repair! And I am still driving it!

  4. Same thing happened to me before CNY, this taxi driver knocked my car bumper slightly as I already parked my car in the lot. As this was a very minor matter (only few scratches), I just told him about his careless driving. But he just denied it and said 谁看到!I was so angry and wanted him to pay me for the damaged he had done to my car or I'll call his taxi office. In the end he paid me S$50 as compensation.
I'm sure you know, to re-spray bumper will cost about S$400 minimum.

  11. mmm first, next time remember to bring ic with you then u have more power to shoot him back.

after i experience a lot of time this like case... i will hold the man and send to workshop and he has to pay for the price else just report police.

This is not ur fault! I think RM250 not enough to cover this damage for sure.

What is the brand of the car tat knock ur car?

  12. Wah...you still managed to get RM250. I think he was trying to hide something too, perhaps expired license.

  17. This calls for Malaysians to be more considerate when driving. This man should be shot! Offering a small sum is not enough.

We need a proper written procedure "What must you do when you knock someone's car" to be taught in all SCHOOLS.....and Driving Schools...

And pin that on the Walls of ALL Police Station....

Many poor women kena like you.

    cheers.

  20. Wenn, my experience in any accidents - be firm. If you're nice they end up waking all over you! I have had many situations where people hit me and want to bargain all sort of things, but in the end, they don't want to pay for their mistakes.

  21. These car incidents are really annoying: something like that happened to me a few weeks ago, in my case it was about the wing mirror.

  22. Wenn, I do hate incidents like this, but thankfully it's just a small accident.

A colleague of mine was robbed of her car when she got out to close her house gate. Someone jumped into her car then and drove off. It was awful but she said thankfully it was just the car - a positive outlook at the situation...

I am glad you are ok :)

  23. Wenn: That is a shame when you were not at fault.
