Self-made lanterns
Each year, the boss would buy paper lanterns to hang at the entrance. But this year he didn't seem to buy any so I decided to make my very own lanterns. It was two days ago.
The first day, I made three lanterns out of the Pop drinks box. I cut it into 3 parts and started creating free-handedly. When I told my people that I was going to make some lanterns out of the box, they didn't believe me.
Finally, I showed then the outcome and they were like 'aik?'
So I hanged the 3 lanterns at the entrance.
On the second day, that was yesterday, I made another two lanterns
out of the Friso box which was given by my customer.
So I hanged them together with the others.
When I went back to the shop after my dinner, I realised that my lanterns were missing and six new paper lanterns have replaced them.
Ah well, the boss must have thought that my lanterns were not colorful enough. That prompted him to buy those new paper lanterns. Otherwise, he was still delaying. Only a few days left before the Mooncake Festival is here!
So have you played with the candles? If you did, I hope that you have taken a photo of it and post it at Chang Jiang.
Dear Wenn,
ReplyDeleteI think the lanterns you made from boxes are very nice. Good that you went green and do recycling.
Can't seem to find any candles at home so did not play with any.:(
Good night. Sweet dreams.
Thanks, Mun!
DeleteIt's ok if you don't play with candles..
Oh made your own lanterns? Nice : )
ReplyDeleteThanks, foongpc!
DeleteI made those since there were nothing hanging at the entrance.
hahaha, your boss!! he surely did not like your self-made lanterns and quickly he went to get those nice paper lanterns to replace yours!! how funny~~ hahahaha.. :D
ReplyDeleteI suspected that..
Deleteyeah, the mid-autumn festival is just a week away.. mooncakes and lanterns sales are hiking these few days.. :)
ReplyDeleteNot sure, I haven't bought any mooncakes yet..
DeleteI also dont know when is the real day.. now no more celebrating like during my younger days.. :)
ReplyDeleteThose were the days..
Deleteit was fun carrying the lanterns..
Wow! A great idea on recycling but maybe your boss thought it will be better to use a real lantern.
ReplyDeleteIt could be that reason..
DeleteSorry, I can't participate in the competition due to time constraint.
ReplyDeleteIt'ok..
DeleteLike all bosses, they sometimes need a little nudge though I thought your lanterns are pretty too. Good try! Happy Lantern Festival, Wenn!
ReplyDeleteThanks..
DeleteGlad that motivated him to get moving..
Maybe you should wrap those handmade lanterns in coloured paper for him to like them. :)
ReplyDeleteoh, that would be too much work..
DeleteGood afternoon there! These lanterns are cheap and nice, very environmental friendly.
ReplyDeleteThere's a recycle lanterns contest here in Taiping Sentral, I've seen many DIY lanterns ;)
oh really..that must be fun..
DeleteHow dare your boss buy new lanterns to replace yours? You should hang your lanterns around his car. Muahahahaha
ReplyDeletewell, he's the boss..
DeleteMaybe your boss was worried that you will keep making the tin lanterns and they might cut your jari.
ReplyDeletethat might be his reason but I was only using cardboard..
DeleteGood evening Wenn...
ReplyDeleteMid Autumn Festival coming ya...
ReplyDeleteThe lanterns you made are so nice...
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend ahead...
ReplyDeleteYou too..
DeleteVery Nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chris!
DeleteHe should have kept your handmade ones which are more precious. :)
ReplyDeleteHe didn't throw them away. I hanged them somewhere else.
DeleteMy girls made this type of lantern at school. My sis had just informed, she went and collected my gift from you. Thanks Wenn.
