English Error

We were at Sushi King tonight. The service was rather slow. We had waited for so long.

While waiting, I read the menu and even this announcement.

It was just right in front of me. Initially, I didn't realize the error. Normally, we would just overlook it.


As I was scrutinizing the items,
I spotted an error somewhere in this announcement.

Well, which error is it?

Not only an error but two or even more!

    Interesting post.....today there are lots of English Grammatical Errors (EGE) everywhere. But they usually say that it is typo. Cheers.

    'Non-alcoholic products' sounds better. The name of the company is also wrong, WTF.

    "Except"... I don't EXPECT non alchoholic product in food that contains alchohol eventhough in a very minimal ammount!=_=

    hahaaha, with grammar like that they can really cause confusion... so should i 'expect' alcohol or non-alcohol food products from Sushi 'Kin'? XD

    Luckily company name is correctly spelled. Sushi Kin does own the Sushi King chain and I wonder why the owner register the company without the 'g'.

    Usually we say non-alcoholic or no alcohol added. And yes, should be 'except' instead of 'expect'.

    It is certainly not easy for a Japanese restaurant to be halal if it means that halal = zero alcohol content. Many sauces have sake or mirin added just like in Chinese dishes, rice wine are used in cooking and even in Western food, wine is used to marinade steak.

    Long ago, I worked for Texchem before I went to States. They were not allowed to register the name with the word "King". I think our law now forbids superlative company names like ~ Best, Nicest, Biggest, Highest or even King.

I went to Taiping as I was sending my mum home. Well, I never thought that I would be meeting Hayley instead. Initially, I had wanted to meet both Yan and Yvonne but they were working yesterday. Yan gave me Hayley's phone number when I asked her if Hayley was working too. So when I reached Taiping, I messaged Hayley that I would try to locate her place as she had given me her address. I didn't think I would be able to find it. So to be on the safe side, I called her when I reached somewhere near her place. This friend of mine, is a kind person. When he has any second hand Brooks shoes, he will call me and ask if I want them. My answer is definitely 'Yes!' He is a dealer in Brooks shoes and he always likes to try on different kinds of shoes. After that, he would just sell them away cheaply. Many months ago, I had bought two pairs from him and recently, my husband told me that those two pairs were almost worn down.  So I had to ask this friend if he had any second hand shoes. He told me that he had this very pair which he only wore it once and he's selling it at RM180. Grabbed it and gave it to my husband. He wore it immediately for his meeting last night. After that, he will wear it for his daily work at the shop.

On 16 Oct 12 , I posted a picture of my sister's place and TM commented: I just live 1 mins drive from your sister's place! He asked: How come you didn't plan to meet KL bloggers? I replied: well, that was an impromptu trip..maybe next time I can plan to meet you up should I go to my sister's place again.. Recently I planned to visit my sister again. So on 27 Dec 12, I sent him a facebook message: hi, can I hv your phone number? I will be at my sister's place again. He was surprised: Wow!!!!!! Nice surprise. Finally, we met at Rib House Chicago at 1U.   TM & A.. SP and SK Look at what they ordered! Five kinds of simply scrumptious dish! We chatted as that was our main aim.. Finally, we had a group photo before we called it a day.. Of course, I received some gifts too. Will show you in my next post. I really enjoyed their company and it was nice meeting them in person after so long. Thank you so much...
