New Experience

Recently I had visited my dentist to have a quick check on my teeth and then I made an appointment for scaling. At the appointed date, I had scaling and three fillings too. After that, the dentist advised me to fill up the space in between my molars. Implants would be too expensive. She asked me if I would like bridging or denture. So I thought bridging would be better as I had an experience before with denture many years ago. I didn't use it regularly and finally I had to throw away.

Then I changed my mind, bridging is very expensive too. I wanted to do denture instead as nowadays denture is the flexible type.

So yesterday morning, I went to collect my denture..

The dentist just fixed the denture for me once and I practised once.
I knew how to do it already.
Very simple.

Back to the shop, my staff was using the walkie-talkie which the boss bought just 2 days ago.
I tried using it and it was fun!

Since I came back from work earlier, I took my son out for dinner at Moven Peak in Greentown.

Cheesy toast

Chicken King fried Rice

my plate of Garlic Butter Chicken Rice

I found it so uncomfortable to eat with my denture on..
I have yet to get used to it..

hahahaha, same here!! i got it extracted last year..

    ReplyDelete
  14. dental treatment can really cost us a bomb!!
i had that extracted molar tooth filled before
and it cost me RM300 for three holes!!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. but it's frustrating because the filling didn't last
couple of months later i feel pain again

    ReplyDelete
  16. and then i went to another dentist
and found out it was actually cracked into two
so i have to extract it instead of getting it filled

  22. Long ago my father underwent open heart surgery and before he was wheeled into operating theatre, he was told to remove something. I was shocked and stood numbed. He removed his dentures of 2 front teeth!! Goodness I lived with him for over 20 years and didn't know he wore them. He kept it like a previous secret but here Wenn is sharing with the world. That was why I laughed today.

  23. I didn't know that a Walkie talkie is useful. My very rich friend carries them whenever he went overseas with his wife. He told me that they both always walked separately during shopping in big department stores in London or Paris, so the set of Walkie talkie came useful to contact each other rather than using their mobile phones. I thought the idea was brilliant.

    1. So I look forward to your coming posts telling us that you could use your dentures to tear a roast chicken easily. My parents in law are both in just their 60s but they wear full set of dentures, top and bottom. They don't have problem to eat anything, so I guess it takes time to wear it.

    2. I just noticed that your denture has only one tooth! I think you can do without it as you have so many other teeth to ngap ngap the food. LOL

      Delete
    3. no la...coz if didnt put denture in then the two teeth from the side will gradually "move"

    4. Talking abt walkie talkie, my friend also use the same way. during shopping. He walk to the food store, his wifey shop another place. Both talking over the walkie talkie.. * over and out* fun rite?

    5. oh, so it can be used outside too..

  24. Since it is molar and front teeth, I may not wear a denture.

  25. The denture looks so different from the one my MIL uses. Wonder if it is costly to have it done in Malaysia. It's expensive in SG.

  27. Hope you get used to wearing the denture. I guess you have to take good care of the denture like taking it out everytime you brush your teeth to clean it.

  28. I am not sure whether the gaps really need to be filled or not. Yes, I understand the teeth will move if there are gaps between them but what is the rate of the movement? If the movement is very slow and takes many, many years, perhaps it is ok not to fill up the gaps.
