9th CNY
I haven't come back for prayers for quite a number of years. So yesterday I decided to come back Taiping to help my mum and sister with the prayers.
It was quite fun to witness the prayers.
It was quite fun to witness the prayers.
we just have a normal prayer at home but unlike those Hokkien families that will be having grand celebrations.. neighbour opposite will be burning fireworks and firecrackers, and this is the day every year that i will not be able to go to sleep early.. too noisy and worse still the noise of their kids running around wildly, shouting and screaming, duh~~
ReplyDeleteBut luckily the next day was a Saturday so you could sleep until late in the morning.
DeleteLast time when my last grandmother was around, she will pray, but now my relatives, don't think anyone pray liao...
ReplyDeletenow my mum prays but next time I wonder who will be praying.
DeleteYour mother and sisters must be very happy to see you back this year to help them with the prayers. Around my place, not many Hokkeins people so seldom see elaborate prayers setup like this but can hear lots of fireworks and firecrackers yesterday in the wee hours. 1.45am they were still letting off firecrackers.
ReplyDeleteLuckily I went back as only my sister went back. My brother couldn't make it.
DeleteSaw many joss sticks at the temple just now and I remember it is the 9th day of cny today. Haha.
ReplyDeleteMy parents just pray at home only. A simple one.
Simple prayers is always easier.
