A surprise visit

I was at the kitchen as usual preparing for lunch. Suddenly I heard the door bell. Someone must be waiting at the gate. At that moment, I was cutting the 'siew yok'. I quickly kept the meat in the fridge and went hurriedly to see who was that.

It was my friend who purposely came over since 
she couldn't make it to my house the other day.
Luckily she came at the right time as I just finished steaming those kueh.
She just stayed for a short while as she had to 
prepare her lunch too before she went to school.

She bought those chocolate moist cakes for me.
Love the chocolatey taste!

When she had left my place, I quickly stir-fried up the 'siew yok' with two different kinds of vegetables.
Do you know why I did that?

    Oh my favourite.. One fried with "suen", another fried with choy sum? "Suen" is called leeks right?
    Two types of vege fried in siew yok, well simple, one for lunch, the other keep for dinner?

    really lucky that u were at home, otherwise, your friend would had miss you again. I always call before dropping by just to make sure my trip won't be wasted. haha

      if the siew yok were overnight, both my mum and mil will stir fried them with vegies. Overnight siew yok not as nice to eat on it's own. Fresh ones will be a waste if use it to stir fry.

    Hmm I love siew yok too, but I always remove the fat parts and eat the meat only, haha xD I know, the fat parts is supposed to be the yummiest part of it!

Twin bananas

Today this cute little darling visited me. His grandparents brought him over for the very first time. He's so cute as he smiled readily. I was tempted to carry him and he was fine with that. Some babies don't like strangers.  I carried him and kissed his cheek several times..So adorable. Without hesitation, I gave him an ang pow. his granddad put him on the table and I took a shot of him.. When I went back home in the evening, I realized that the bunch of bananas at the altar has ripen. I brought the bunch to my shop and shared with my people. There was this particular twin bananas and my worker wanted them. She peeled them and I could see that they were adjoined all the way down.
