Michaelian Military Band

When my boy was young, he didn't like to learn music. I had wanted to send him to music course but he refused. So I just let him be. When he started his secondary level, he wanted to join the military band. Of course, I encouraged him to do so. He picked up the flute. I was surprised that he could play the flute well even though he has no basic in reading the notes.

He played flute for two years. Then his father bought him a saxophone and he has played it for two years too. Next year, he wants to play the trumpet..

Last Saturday was Parents' Day and I was not there as we were in Singapore.

Hop over to the facebook of

and enjoy the video which my boy has done
on Parents' Day 2012.

  3. Saxophone is such an expensive piece of music. They look so curvy and beautiful in brass gold colour. It reminds me of Nat King Cole playing it.

  5. It is not easy to learn to play wind instruments like saxophone and trumpet. I tried the trumpet once but cannot get any sound to come out because one needs to purse one's lips in a certain way to get the sound.

Well done to your son for doing well in these instruments! :)

  21. What a show-off, many people have joined the Michaelian Military Band playing much better instruments, and they are not showing off like you. Stop boasting about your som. I was also in the MMB playing the drums and nobody boasted about it on the net, not even me. You're just a show off just because your son is playing a saxophone! Really, what are you people going up to next....
