My Christmas Day

I decided to visit my friends in the morning instead of late evening. It was indeed a surprise for them. I reached my friend's residential area but I forgot the house number. So I called and in a short while I was at the gate. So I was welcomed with open arms. I just couldn't resist the scrumptious food for breakfast.

I tried all of them except mutton and the whitish gravy.

I had spent too much time that I quickly excused myself to visit my favorite customers. They have become my good friends.

Mrs Moorthy was my eldest girl's tuition teacher.


They invited me for dinner but I had to decline as the boss would be attending a dinner. I went back home to give my dog, Teddy a Christmas bath as I missed bathing him last Sunday. Then I quickly went to work. It was already 1pm.

as promised, my staff had gone out to buy two boxes of Domino's pizzas
Only four of us shared on the expenses.
I just ate a small piece.
It could be considered my lunch.

What's waiting for me at Chang Jiang?

At 4pm, I was hungry as usual. But I decided not to go back home for dinner. I quickly grabbed a muffin. A while later, the boss wanted to buy this. I couldn't say 'No'..
I enjoyed it and I was not hungry at all till we closed shop. The boss was going to attend a dinner so he bought a packet of claypot rice for me. But I was too busy and hardly find time to eat. I took home and just savored half of it.

Business was as usual but what was the most saleable item during Christmas?

    Most saleable? Brands essence of chicken? Many people buy this for gifts regardless of any occasions as they are "tai fong" and good for health..

      that's normal but it's not considered very saleable on christmas day.

    Wenn you should have taste the white gravy is it the one make from coconut? taste good with tose and Idli.

    oh, a very nice and eventful christmas day you had huh?? went to visit friends and also some little celebration in the shop.. your friends sure love you for visiting them, and the food they served all looked so delicious!!

      business is always better before a festive day..so christmas day's business was as usual except for my hampers sales.

      I was doing the hampers non-stop. In the morning when I was not around, my people did the hampers. They were sold like hot cakes!

    You were still so busy running everywhere on Christmas Day! What was the most hot items sold? I guess must be the soft drinks!

      I had to visit my friends earlier. Otherwise, I would be very busy once I stepped into the shop.
      yes, soft drinks were sold rapidly but that's normal. My hampers were the most saleable on that day!

    I do miss all those years when I had non stop invitations to open houses during Hari Raya, Christmas and Deepavali in Penang. Since I moved to KL, the trend just stopped as I do not have so many good friends like you.

Twin bananas

Today this cute little darling visited me. His grandparents brought him over for the very first time. He's so cute as he smiled readily. I was tempted to carry him and he was fine with that. Some babies don't like strangers.  I carried him and kissed his cheek several times..So adorable. Without hesitation, I gave him an ang pow. his granddad put him on the table and I took a shot of him.. When I went back home in the evening, I realized that the bunch of bananas at the altar has ripen. I brought the bunch to my shop and shared with my people. There was this particular twin bananas and my worker wanted them. She peeled them and I could see that they were adjoined all the way down. Well, old wives tale has it that those ladies who ate them would give birth to twins in future..
