A challenge to myself

I have been very lazy to get to the gym for workout. So I thought I might as well create my own exercise. It is actually a challenge to myself.

I use my home stairway as my tool to exercise.

There are actually two flights of stairs but I'm only using the lower ones.

I ran up and down the stairs without anyone noticing.
But this morning, my boy was around so I asked him to take a picture of me.

I use the S Memo to jot down my commitment.
I challenge myself to improve on the number of steps!

Taking two flights of stairs daily helps you burn enough calories to drop 6 pounds in a year, reports Reader’s Digest. If you can up that to two minutes of climbing, five times per week – the calorie burn is equivalent to adding an extra 36-minute walk per week. If you add stairs to a formal exercise routine, you can also burn more calories than walking on level ground. Carry an 8-pound dumbbell in each hand as you go upstairs – on a step mill machine or the staircase in your own home – and a 155-pound person burns 422 calories in an hour. Compare this to the 267 calories burned walking on level ground at 3.5 miles per hour for one hour.

  11. That's a good way to exercise Wenn.

I do the stairs too, when I'm not running due to bad weather. I usually do a rep of 2-3 of my apartment stairs. 1 rep is from Ground Floor - 11th Floor.

I need to increase the rep though. Must work those legs! LOL

    Keep it up, Wenn! :-)
