EPF/Socso/PCB
Since I started working in my husband's shop, I just have to calculate the wages for my part-time workers. I don't need to worry about the staff's salary. All I need to do is keep an attendance of all the workers. Formerly I had to write down their attendance every single day. But since last year, we have the 'punch card' system. It helps me a lot in the sense that I don't need to keep an eye on their time.
As we all know, all permanent workers need to contribute EPF and Socso. Initially, I didn't need to be responsible for filling in the forms and paying the needed contributions. But few years ago, our accountant cum secretary wanted me to handle that as her people were rather busy. So I took over the chores until now. I even handle the PCB as I need to courier the cheque to the Income Tax Department in Putrajaya before the dateline ie 10th of each month.
As for EPF and Socso, I was never late as we always pay on time via the bank. But I was late once for the PCB as I was busy before the Chinese New Year. So our company was penalized for being late. We had to pay for the fine.
Recently, one of my staff wanted to purchase a new car. So she checked her EPF contributions and she found out that no contribution was made in the month of May. According to my record, I had paid for that month. I had always wanted to go to the office to find out the reason but I couldn't find the time.
But yesterday morning, a letter came from EPF. It stated that they couldn't process the contributions as the form was not received by them. Anyway, I went to the office and settled the problem.
I don't actually know how much I had contributed but yesterday I found out my total contributions. It will be stagnant as I don't contribute anymore...
To talk about work, I'm just like you. I always try to help others, until sometimes I can't remember how many times ady and when I'm pist off, I really hope that they know how much I contributed...
ReplyDeleteI don't mind helping as long as they knew that I had helped without obligation.
DeleteSo since you've taking care of the salary, EPF, SOCSO and PCB, did you get reduction from your accountant and secretary annual fee?
ReplyDeleteIf not, I think you can request and discuss about it.
sorry, no reduction. Furthermore, she asked for increment. Otherwise, she wanted to quit. so the boss gave in..
DeleteHmm, is always like that. Then might as well ask them to handle back,. Hahaha...
DeleteI wish I could but the boss would be angry..
DeleteHahaha...no choice, we try to help and just like you try to help your boss cum your hubby as much as possible.
Deletewhat to do..if I don't help, who would, right?
DeleteSometimes when we're busy we definitely will overlook something.
ReplyDeleteyea, especially pre CNY and pre Deepavali
Delete10% fine?
ReplyDeleteI think so..luckily the PCB was not much
DeleteThat fine definitely gave you alert and a shock right? Ya, is ok to pay for the fine, when we knows where's our mistake.
DeleteI was just late for a few days as we were closed for CNY.
DeleteAll these pcb socso epf headache stuffs. Ya lor hv deadlines andvhave to psy promptly else co eill be fined or worst go to court
ReplyDeletethey could be rather strict so we have to be efficient..
DeleteOnce a month affair.. yes, good to keep track using punch card especially for yuor daily paid staff..
ReplyDeleteyes, and I would be busy sitting at my desk and counting away as my daily staff have different timing..
DeletePunch card is easy for us to keep track on their daily attendance.
DeleteOh, in Malaysia, it's EPF, Singapore is CPF...
ReplyDeletewhat is C?
DeletePunch card will be easlier to handle ya...
ReplyDeletetrue, otherwise I will have headache..
DeleteHave a great day ahead...
ReplyDeleteyou too, Sharon!
DeleteSometimes is like that, can't run away to help others!!! =[
ReplyDeletesometimes we feel obligated..
Deletehmmm, very true.. all these administrative tasks can be quite taxing sometimes.. but i guess the almighty Ipoh Taukesoh can handle them very well :)
ReplyDeleteI have no choice but to handle it carefully..
DeleteYes, punch card system really saves you a lot of manual works!
ReplyDeleteCertain EPF/Socso cases can be very mafan and tricky, I know cause I handled similar things before when I was working in Silverstone.
DeleteNot difficult for me as I just have to fill in forms and make payment on time..
DeleteThe more we know you, the more we are impressed by all your abilities! You have so many roles to play at work and at home.
ReplyDeletewell, I supposed I'm all rounder..
DeleteThe company I am attached to is always late in paying something and they had to pay penalties so many times. My boss said it is normal.
ReplyDeleteoh, my boss is different..he will start scolding..
DeleteOne day you might freak out at your boss for giving you so much pressure. End up, Wenn will hold placards and loud speaker to protest outside the shop. Muahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteTake it easy and boss will reward you will another holiday trip soon.
haha..you are so funny..
DeleteI don't protest as I have my self-prestige..
yea, I will be on holidays again soon..
Buy car check EPF? why ah? Sorry... just wondering.
ReplyDeleteno idea..I didn't ask her but it seems her agent wanted to know
DeleteI handle the EPF, Socso and tax matter for my company too..hope problem will not arise..
ReplyDeleteoh, so we are in the same boat..
DeleteIt is good that the matter with EPF has been ironed out smoothly by you. You are really tasked with many responsibilities. Your boss must need to appreciate you more.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day Wenn.
