Just steam them

Sometimes I really got to hurry in preparing for my lunch as I had to go work earlier than usual. So I just steamed all the ingredients.

A very easy way of cooking..

chicken, soya sauce, black sauce, sesame oil, garlic
and bitter gourd

10 minutes later, added in tomatoes

5 minutes later, the tomatoes had soften

threw in some wolfberries (kei chee)

my plate of lunch

simple yet nutritious

  5. Yes it is very healthy to eat steam food like that. Quite a good size portion for one person's meal. Did you put any seasoning into the dish? I assume you sprinkled some salt. Did you put any soy sauce or oyster sauce or sesame oil in it?

    Have a nice day Wenn.

  9. Steaming food is a lot healthier and cuts out all the cleaning up afterwards. My fav way of preparing food.

Wenn, but I was wondering what's the rationale of putting in the ingredients one after another? I'd normally put in everything all at once so that the various juices can blend in together. Also, by not opening the wok cover so many times will make a shorter cooking time. Please share your reasoning. Maybe something new we can pick up here? Thanks.

The dish looks delicious, no doubt.

    1. well, tomatoes are best eaten if slightly cooked. You can feel the taste.

The kei chee can be eaten raw as it has sweetness in it. If it's too cooked, it doesn't taste good anymore.

Maybe you can try the recipe all in one and see the difference..
